How much does a matchmaker cost in Toronto?
In Toronto, matchmaking typically costs between $1,500 and $25,000 or more, depending on the level of service. Boutique and coaching led services start around $1,500. Mid range matchmaking usually runs $3,000 to $10,000. Luxury and executive firms generally start at $15,000 and go well past $25,000. At Match Me Canada, support starts at $49 a month and full private matchmaking is $8,500.
Let me just tell you the numbers
Most matchmakers in this city will not put prices on their website. You have to fill in a form, get on a call, and sit through a pitch before anyone tells you what anything costs. I find that exhausting, so here is the honest version.
- Under $1,000Usually coaching, profile help, or a one off service rather than matchmaking. This is where you get skills, not introductions. Genuinely useful if the problem is how you are dating rather than who you are meeting.
- $1,500 to $5,000Boutique matchmaking and serious coaching packages. Often a solo matchmaker rather than a big firm, which means you actually get the person you hired.
- $5,000 to $15,000Full service matchmaking with a curated search, ongoing support, and a real number of introductions. This is the middle of the Toronto market.
- $15,000 to $25,000 and upThe luxury and executive firms. International networks, professional photoshoots, and a lot of white glove service. Some are excellent. You are also paying for the branding.
What actually changes the price
How much of a real search happens. Sending you names from an existing database is cheap. Actively going out and finding people who fit you is expensive, and it is the difference that matters most.
Who you actually work with. At a big firm you often meet a salesperson, then get handed to a matchmaker you have never spoken to. At a solo practice you get the person whose name is on the door.
Whether coaching is included. Introductions alone have a ceiling. If nobody is helping you understand why the last four did not work, you will repeat it.
Length of the engagement, and how specific your criteria are. Three months versus a year changes the number a lot, and the narrower your requirements, the longer the search.

Is it worth the money?
That depends entirely on what is actually stopping you.
If you are meeting plenty of good people and it keeps falling apart in month three, do not buy matchmaking. Buy coaching. Introductions will not fix a pattern.
If you are competent and self aware and simply not meeting anyone who is remotely right, matchmaking is probably worth it, because your problem is access.
If you are exhausted and cannot face another app, start small. Spend $49 and see if having someone in your corner changes how the month goes.
The most expensive option is not the best one. The right one is.

Do matchmakers in Toronto offer payment plans?
I do not offer payment plans. In my experience they tend to create more headaches than they solve. My programs start at $49 a month though, so there is a low cost way to begin without needing one.
Is there a guarantee?
Be careful with anyone who guarantees you a relationship, because nobody can. Some services guarantee a number of introductions, which is a different and more honest promise.
Why is matchmaking so expensive?
Because a real search is labour. Sourcing, screening, and vetting people who genuinely fit you takes many hours per introduction.
Is a cheaper matchmaker worse?
Not necessarily. Sometimes you are just not paying for a downtown office and a marketing budget.
Can I start small and upgrade?
Yes, and honestly most of my clients do exactly that.
