Matchmaker vs dating apps: which one is actually right for you?
Dating apps give you volume, control, and a very low price, but they cost you time and energy and the quality is unpredictable. A matchmaker gives you screened, curated introductions and saves enormous time, but costs between $1,500 and $25,000 and gives you fewer options. Apps suit people with time and patience. Matchmaking suits people with money and no time. Plenty of people should do both.

What apps are genuinely good at
I am not anti app. I help people use them properly every single day.
Apps give you access to more people than you could ever meet organically. They are cheap. They work on your schedule. And if your profile is good, which most are not, they can work well.
The problem is not the apps. It is that almost nobody was ever taught how to use them, so people run a bad profile for three years and conclude that dating is broken.
What matchmaking is genuinely good at
Someone else does the searching, the screening, and the awkward vetting. Everyone you meet is actually looking for a relationship. Nobody is going to ghost you and then watch your stories.
You also get a person who knows you, watching the pattern from the outside, telling you the truth.
The option most people miss
You can do both
And honestly most of my clients do. Fix the profile, learn the skills, keep swiping with an actual strategy, and add curated introductions when it makes sense. The apps stop being a slot machine and start being a tool.
