Look at you, showing up and putting yourself out there. Love that for you.
I’m Rebecca, founder of Match Me Canada and your personal guide to creating a profile that makes people stop scrolling and actually want to connect.
Let’s be honest. Your dating profile is your personal ad. It’s your “for sale” sign. And if the copy’s bland and the photos are blurry, you’re going to attract meh matches or get overlooked completely.
Let’s talk about Chris, a client of mine. Great job, fit, generous, and smart. But his Hinge profile read like a sandwich menu: “Love travel, tacos, gym, dad jokes.” No context. No story. No spark. Once we rewrote his prompts and used photos that actually showed who he is, like one of him making homemade pasta with his kids, everything changed. His matches tripled and the conversations actually led to dates.
Here’s How to Make Your Profile Stand Out:
- Ditch the generic lists. Instead of “I love music and Netflix,” try “Currently obsessed with 90s R&B and true crime documentaries that keep me up way too late.”
- Use photos that show personality, not perfection. One smiling headshot. One full-body. One doing something fun (not holding a fish).
- Tell a story. Show, don’t tell. Instead of saying “I’m funny,” write something that makes people laugh.
